In olden times, a warlock was buried on the eastern coast of North America for his evil. He survived, and over the decades, his evil spread out from him to contaminate the minds of all those who lived around his prison.
Centuries passed, and the tomb became the centre of Gotham City. When the warlock escaped his tomb, he found the city whose existence he had so effected. In a mad fit of pride, he claimed the name Doctor Gotham for his own.
