Powers and Abilities

Powers

Abilities

  • Leadership: Zod has demonstrated his ability to lead others in the capacity of military commander of the Kryptonian Space Center. Even after being sent into exile, Zod commanded the obedience and respect of his fellow Phantom Zone criminals.

Strength level

Average: By Kryptonian standards, Zod possessed the strength level of a man his age, size and weight who engaged in moderate regular exercise. If exposed to yellow sun radiation, Zod's strength capacity would increase to superhuman levels.

Weaknesses

While imprisoned within the Phantom Zone, General Zod does not maintain a corporeal form. As such, he cannot physically vocalize his thoughts and must use telepathy to communicate with other Phantom Zone criminals. This psionic ability is restricted to communication with Phantom Zone denizens only. Upon leaving the Phantom Zone and returning to normal space/time, Zod reconstitutes a corporeal body.

Paraphernalia

Equipment: General Zod duploids: General Zod created an army of imperfect duplicates similar in form and function to Bizarro. Zod used this imperfect army in a bid to overthrow Krypton's capital city Kryptonopolis.

Notes

  • This version of Dru-Zod (Earth-One), including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the Multiverse in the 1985-86 Crisis on Infinite Earths limited series and is now considered apocryphal.

Trivia

  • The Pre-Crisis version of General Zod was re-imagined for the 1978 feature film Superman and became one of the primary antagonists in the film's sequel Superman II.
