Duncan Pramble was once a research assistant to an archaeologist named Doctor Charles Ferris. Many years ago, Pramble accompanied Doctor Ferris as well as the Challengers of the Unknown on an expedition to an island known as Ruins. Within the ruins of the island, Pramble discovered an ancient elixir known as "Liquid Light." According to nearby hieroglyphs, consumption of this elixir granted the imbiber additional lives. With each new life, the partaker would also receive a new power. Pramble greedily drank the chemical fluid and, as promised, gained extraordinary new powers. He decided to use his new powers to become a criminal and turned his attention towards defeating the Challengers.

Powers

  • Resurrection: Due to the peculiar properties of the Liquid Light, Pramble can immediately be reborn as a new creature with new powers. He has died and been resurrected many times, each time with extraordinary new abilities.

Abilities

  • Genius Level Intellect: the Liquid Light potion has enhanced his knowledge to equal that of a scientific genius.

Weaknesses

  • Mental Illness: as a side-effect of his powers, Multi-Man suffers from severe emotional distress, and his moods can change dramatically from one moment to the next. In some cases he is simply prankish and childish, at other times he can be a egotistical maniac.
  • Randomness of Powers: His great power can also be considered his greatest weakness. What power Pramble receives upon resurrection is based of the random order of fractal mathmatics. At times he can be gifted with incredible powers and at other times his powers can be all but useless.
  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985-86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
