Earl Povich was born to a steelworker in Pittsburgh. He formed a team with the Pied Piper called Sound and Fury. It is hinted at that their partnership may have been an intimate one, but it is never revealed for certain.
During a solo heist, Fury was taken down by the Flash. He spent ten years in prison before escaping. Once free, he set about taking down targeted buildings from a plan he had formed with the Piper all of those years ago. Hartley had recognized the pattern and was able to tip off the police about Fury's plan. He was finally cornered at Petite Mall where Piper's boyfriend, James, was working at the time. After attacking the man, he was brought down by a blast from one of Piper's sonic guns. He was arrested and presumed to be back in prison.[1]
