Earth-43 is one of fifty-one divergent realities that branched from the core New Earth reality during the recreation of the Multiverse shortly following the events of Infinite Crisis.

- In Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Compendium, it was revealed that an equivalent universe existed pre-Crisis known as Earth-1191.
- One of the differences between Earth-1191 and Earth-43 is that on the former Batman worked alone with no indication of a Nightmare Robin.
- Characters from Earth-43 appear as playable characters in the Infinite Crisis video game. These characters are Nightmare Batman, Nightmare Catwoman, Nightmare Robin, and Nightmare Superman.
