Eclipso: The Darkness Within is a 2 issue miniseries and annual crossover event spanning many DC titles, plotted by Keith Giffen and Robert Loren Fleming. It featured the return of Eclipso after his imprisonment in his palace on the moon. His character is retconned to introduce the Eclipso Entity, and Eclipso uses shards of his black diamond scattered all over the Earth to take over the minds of heroes and villains alike during moments of anger.
