Professor Hamilton is a genius scientist living in Metropolis who is frequently a friend and ally of Superman. However, he is mentally unstable and has turned evil several times. He has also been known as Overmind under the guidance of Brainiac-13, Enginehead as part of a composite cybernetic being and Ruin when he started targeting Superman's loved ones. His career is usually spent working in S.T.A.R. Labs or his own business in Suicide Slum, although he has also been a member of the Secret Society of Super-Villains. Emil Hamilton was created by Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway, first appearing in Adventures of Superman #424. (1987) He was named after Edmond Hamilton.
