Enigma was an eight-issue limited series published from March to October of 1993 under DC's Vertigo Imprint. The series was written by Peter Milligan with illustrations by Duncan Fegredo. Enigma takes place within an insular continuity separate from that of the mainstream DC Universe as well as other Vertigo titles. All eight issues were collected in trade paperback format in 1995. The trade paperback includes an introduction by Grant Morrison.
