The Eye of Armageddon was an ancient relic from an unnamed alien world. Some four-hundred years ago, a group of warrior priests aligned themselves with an alien race known as the Mygorg and crafted the Eye so that the aliens could survive in the planet's atmosphere. Centuries later, the Eye became the object of a grand quest led by the freedom fighter known as Starfire.
