Action Comics #362 is an issue of the series Action Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of April, 1968.

Synopsis for Superman: "The Head of Hate!"

Ventor Caine, a ventriloquist, robs an armored car full of cash. Clark Kent was riding in the car and is taken prisoner. Ventor blames Superman for capturing his twin brother Bruno. Bruno died in jail, but Ventor has fashioned a dummy of Bruno and in his insanity believes that his twin still lives.

To gain revenge, Ventor hypnotizes Clark Kent using super-hypnosis powered by a damaged Superman robot. The hypnosis appears to have succeeded. Clark turns from coward to a fighting man, but he still refuses to hurt Superman. Ventor then uses dummies of Clark's friends to convince him that Superman has killed Lois, Jimmy, and Perry. Clark then agrees to help Ventor by killing Superman, unaware that he himself is the real Man of Steel.

Synopsis for Supergirl: "The 40th Century Outlaw!"

Linda Danvers is chosen by a Stanhope student from 4,000 A.D. to visit their college in the future. Once there, she discovers that Supergirl is considered an outlaw, and supposedly stole moon mail from the first lunar landing in 1970, intending to sell it and profit from it herself.

When she reveals herself to stop an out-of-control robot, Supergirl is captured with Green Kryptonite, tried, and sentenced to have the word "OUTLAW" branded on her forehead with a special ray, though her defender in court appears to be a time-traveling Robin from the 20th Century. However, Robin is actually Mister Mxyzptlk of the 40th Century, who has magically commanded everyone on Earth to believe Supergirl is a criminal. Supergirl deduces his ruse when she sees "Robin" flying without a Legion Flight Ring, tricks Mr. Mxyzptlk LX into saying his name backwards, and undoes his magic, including the "OUTLAW" brand, which was his doing. She then returns to the 20th Century.
