Synopsis for "Wake the Dead!"

Superman returns to Metropolis from his time-traveling journey. He reunites with Lois at her apartment and explains everything that happened to him, which felt like five months when he was gone only for a couple of hours. Superman laments his failure to prevent the Moon's destruction in the 30th century, but Lois tries to soothe him, reminding him he is not a god, and he falls asleep.

The next morning, Lois and Clark go to the Daily Planet, where editor Sam Foswell, superseding the absent Perry White, gives them two stories to take care of. Lois receives the task to investigate the story of Lex Luthor's will, and Clark takes the assignment of a mysterious series of deaths at Stryker's Island Penitentiary.

Meanwhile, the six reanimated corpses wake up on the morgue and escape, controlled by Baron Sunday's voodoo powers. Superman follows their trail through the streets of Metropolis and confronts them, but the gang of zombie-like men is stronger than normal humans, even incapacitating him with the Baron's mystical powers. Superman lures them to the sewers, where he zaps them with a high voltage surge, freeing them from the Baron's control.

Superman visits Stryker's and finds Baron Sunday in a catatonic state due to the shock his reanimated men received.
