All-American Comics #27 is an issue of the series All-American Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of June, 1941.
Synopsis for Green Lantern: "Meet Doiby Dickles"
In the offices of Apex Broadcasting, Irene Miller is introduced to Dr. Henry. The doctor has invented a machine that will give radio a much clearer reception without static. The inventor, however, has had several attempts on his life, and they recruit Irene into carrying the plans the research laboratory. Listening at the door, a man rushes outside and sets a trap for Irene. She leaves Apex and grabs a taxi; a car suddenly appears, following their every move. The cab driver can't outrace the criminals and is forced into a fistfight with them. He takes them out one by one and introduces himself to Irene as Doiby Dickles. They reach the laboratory without further incident. After dropping off the plans, they return to Apex, and Doiby is recognized as a hero.
That night, Green Lantern visits Doiby and thanks him for his service. The next day, Alan Scott overhears a man named Barton arguing with Mr. Wallace about purchasing Apex, but Wallace refuses to sell. Later that night, Alan again transforms into the Green Lantern to find out more information. For several nights, Green Lantern watches Barton for evidence of a crime. Meanwhile, the newly invented radio tower is finally built, and Irene is sent to retrieve the confidential report, driven, of course, by her new hero, Doiby Dickles. The thugs, overhearing the conversation, report the news to their boss, revealed to be Barton. Green Lantern, overhearing Barton's phone call, races to the laboratory.
As the thugs rush the radio tower, Green Lantern uses his magic to chase them away. Doiby and Irene arrive and, while Irene is captured, Doiby is knocked out in the struggle. Green Lantern is hit by a speeding car, and Doiby, awakening from unconsciousness, tails the gangsters to their hideout. Realizing that the Green Lantern has been put out of action, Doiby speeds to a costume shop to purchase a GL costume.
Later, he bursts into the hideout, but no one is fooled by a short fat man in a derby dressed as Green Lantern. Before Doiby can be killed, the real Green Lantern walks in the room and, along with Doiby, easily dispatches the thugs. The next day, Doiby finds a note in his home from Green Lantern asking Doiby to be his partner in fighting evil.

Synopsis for Hop Harrigan: "Trouble in the Canal Locks"
Ikky Tinker and Prop Wash go on a secret mission, to thwart an enemy attack on the Panama Canal. They disguise themselves as gunrunners, and board the enemy agents' freighter. They learn that the spies will be attacking the canal by air. Tinker and Wash stow away on the attack plane, which then attacks the cargo ship.
Meanwhile Hop Harrigan has been following Ikky and Prop, in disguise, in case they need his help. He rescues his friends, and crashes the attack plane before it can reach the Canal.

Synopsis for Doctor Mid-Nite: "Prisoners by Choice"
"Gallows" Gallagher murders "Diamond Jack" Gillan, and Dr. Charles McNider sees it happen, but he can't tell anybody without blowing his secret identity as Dr. Mid-Nite. Also Gallows is supposed to be in prison at the time of this murder, so his alibi will be hard to shake. Mid-Nite looks into it, and finds out that Gallagher's place in prison has been taken by this brother, and that this was accomplished with the help of a corrupt warden. Dr. Mid-Nite exposes the scheme, which releases the brother. He then traps the real Gallagher and the warden in jail, and calls in the real authorities.

Synopsis for The Atom: "The Dilemma of Jimmy Baker"
A large deposit of copper is known to be on Mr. and Mrs. Baker's property, so to get control of it, two gangsters have framed Mr. Baker for arson. His son Jimmy Baker tells the Atom about this. The Atom investigates, and figures out Stroehm and Kane's plan. Along with Mary James, he confronts Stroehm, who signs a confession, exonerating Mr. Baker, then Stroehm gets turned over to the police.

Synopsis for Sargon: "Mystery at the Whitestone Museum"
At the Whitestone Museum, a valuable statue is stolen. Sargon sees it happen, and follows the thieves, who lead him to the home of Perry Asher, millionaire auto tycoon. Sargon uses the Ruby of Life to animate the statue, then brings it back to the museum. Before they get there, Sargon realizes that a valuable ruby is missing from the statue, so he returns to Asher's home. The second visit goes less well for him, in fact Sargon gets knocked unconscious. Asher attempts to murder Sargon, who rallies and escapes, then captures Asher, retrieves the ruby, and returns it to the statue at the museum.
