Alvin Rusch is the father of Jason Rusch – the current Firestorm.
History
They live in a modest two-story home on 49 Pleasant Road in Detroit, Michigan. Alvin was formerly employed at a factory plant but is currently retired and living on disability. Many years ago, Alvin suffered a terrible accident at the plant, resulting in the loss of his left arm. The accident caused Alvin to grow bitter and despondent. He developed a rage, which he ultimately took out on his family. Refusing to suffer his abuse any longer, Alvin's wife abandoned her family when Jason was but a small boy. Alvin remained a strict authority figure in Jason's life, prone to bouts of emotional abuse and physical violence.
