Synopsis for "The Lesson: Tunnel Vision, Part Two"

Batman Incorporated has funded a complete overhaul of Firewall, and Batgirl now has a batarang-maker that can create as many combinations of batarangs as she likes as well as the Compact, a new car. Proxy helps her research the “deck shuffle,” which is when every few years all the banks in Gotham ship their low-dollar, high-count defunct bills to the Treasury for replacement or elimination. Now she only needs to wait until the money is moved to find Slipstream.

Stephanie is in class when both she and Xane Swift receive alerts that the deck shuffle is happening, and they run out. Steph realizes her slacker classmate is Slipstream and wishes she had picked up on the clues, and Proxy tells her to focus on stopping him now. Batgirl follows the signal to “the Tube,” an emergency tunnel carved beneath Gotham after the Cataclysm, and arrives just before Slipstream. Both she and Slipstream are cut off from the outside world, preventing her from communicating with Proxy or relying on his boss using the override on his suit again. Batgirl sticks Slipstream with magnetic batarangs, which fry his suit and capture him in goop.

Nick Gage reveals to Batgirl he used to be a member of the Order of the Scythe, and they would have made Slipstream an offer he couldn’t refuse. He observes that Slipstream isn’t afraid to be taken to Blackgate, suggesting there is more going on here. Sure enough, the reapers’ client isn’t bothered that Slipstream was arrested, but he does regret that he didn’t get away with the money. The Order of the Scythe sends out the next reaper: Harmony.
