Synopsis for "The Redeemer"

The Batplane is struck a heat-seeking missile, and it crashes into the mountain; too late, Batman and his sidekicks realize that the figure wasn't Bane but a member of the Kobra Cult. The Kobra Cult is also holding Bane and King Snake at gunpoint, but when King Snake says, "Uraeus," they bow before him.

Batgirl leaves the wrecked Batplane and claims her companions are dead, and once she gets close enough, she knocks the Kobra member unconscious. When he comes to, Nightwing questions him about their numbers while Batman, Batgirl, and Robin enter the base. Robin sneaks through the ventilation shafts and sees King Snake and Bane approach the Servitor, which is guarding the room holding the Lazarus Pit. King Snake commands the Kobra troopers to remove the "holy fire" from the Servitor.

Batman sets off the base's alarm as a diversion and asks, "Was he what you hoped to find, Bane?" King Snake recognizes Batman's voice as a fight breaks out between the Bats and Kobras. King Snake declares he can't abide betrayal and fires a machine gun towards where Batman and Bane are. Bane is hit repeatedly, and he says it was better when he had no father. He throws the container of "holy fire" at King Snake, knocking him and the last Kobra down a crevasse.

At his request, Batman carries Bane to the Lazarus Pit and submerges him to save his life. Bane has a fresh start. He asks Batman to carry a message to Leslie Thompkins for him: Bane is gone. He found the truth amid the lies, and he is better for it.
