Synopsis for "Janus, Part One: Two's Company, Three's a Corpse"

During a psychoanalytical session Two-Face fakes a heart attack and, with additional help of some his thugs, is able to escape from Arkham Asylum. It is obvious that his mind has become even more fragmented. As soon as Batman hears of the escape, he leaves his cave to find Two-Face. Robin stays behind to do some research. While Batman "asks" some known criminals about Two-Face's whereabouts, a new vigilante pops up on the scene. He calls himself Janus, wears a golden mask and he shoots four members of Two-Face's gang just after they pulled off a robbery.

As Robin informs Batman about Janus, Bruce sees Alfred not far away from the place Janus first appeared. This makes him suspicious because earlier Alfred had argued that Batman's no killing policy would not really solve the problems. Back in the Batcave Bruce asks Alfred where he has been, but the butler refuses to give a clear answer...
