Synopsis for "Death-Wish for Two"
It's been two and a half weeks since David Cain turned himself to the Gotham City Police Department and Bruce Wayne was cleared from the murder of Vesper Fairchild. Cain is due to stand trial for his crime and Bruce knows that Cain is in danger of being "silenced", thus he goes out the night of the trial and Oracle contacts him to tell him about the recent "inactivity" from a world-wide known assassin.
At that moment, in a night club, a man is flirting with a court reporter and learning details about the trial before leaving her promptly and deeming her as ugly. A drunk man follows the mysterious man to the outside and congratulates him for hitting on the reporter. The man takes out a costume and shoots the drunk guy with a single shot from his wrist gun. Deadshot has arrived to deal with Cain.
Meanwhile, on his cell, Cain has decided not to eat anything for days now and the police can't force him to eat. When the officers leave the cell, Batman appears and starts talking to Cain and asking him why has he lost every will to fight. Cain replies that there is no more reason to keep fighting and Batman reminds him of his only daughter, Cassandra. At that moment, the police get in the cell to take Cain to the courthouse.
Batman keeps an eye on them, but everything seems to be in order until he notices that there is a dead janitor in the middle of the transfer bridge. Batman jumps and tries to warn the police and Cain from the trap, but it's too late. A bomb detonates under the bridge, making most of the officers to fall down. Batman leaps and catches them in mid-air and saves almost al of them except for one, who is shot.
Deadshot stands in front of Cain and they greet like old enemies, while Batman tries to take the police officers to a safe place. The assassins start threatening each other and Deadshot gives Cain the chance to finish him, but Cain refuses and he let himself fall down the bridge to the street several feet below.
