Synopsis for "Batman and Robin Must Die, Part Three: The Knight, Death and the Devil"

Alfred watches a television report on the riots across the city and the return of "Thomas Wayne" to Gotham, and he walks outside to welcome Doctor Hurt to Wayne Manor.

The Joker opens the coffin where he is keeping Robin, telling him that the "the first and best Boy Wonder" is at the mercy of the "most evil man on Earth." He takes him out to the Wayne family's burial plot and mocks him while eating a banana, dropping the peel on the ground. Robin jumps on top of Professor Pyg's truck as he drives onto the property. Inside the cab he has Commissioner Gordon, who is still undergoing withdrawal; when Gordon suddenly strikes Pyg, knocking his mask off, Robin flips inside and kicks Pyg out of the moving vehicle. Gordon says his anger cured his craving and asks what he did to Batman. Robin looks up at a helicopter and says, "You gave him to them." He tells Gordon that if he managed to cure himself others can be saved and he must retake the city while Robin saves Batman; however, Professor Pyg sics the 99 Fiends on Robin, and he is captured and brought to where Doctor Hurt is keeping Batman.

Doctor Hurt shoots Batman in the head and tells Robin that if he doesn't receive medical treatment within twelve hours he will suffer permanent brain damage. Since he is a surgeon, he is willing to perform the operation if Robin will serve him. He recalls how Thomas and Martha took him in, and now he is destroying their reputation and that of their son. Doctor Hurt and Robin will summon Barbatos to open the casket. Batman reminds Robin where he found the casket and begs him to stall. Suddenly Hurt hears whistling, and the casket opens to reveal a Batarang and a note that reads, "Gotcha!" Batman and Robin punch Hurt, who calls the 99 Fiends to deal with them. Batman says he doesn't make plans, but he knows someone who does... A voice from the shadows tells Hurt to turn around, and the original Batman says, "It's all over."
