Black Mass is Geoffrey Thibodeux, a super-villain and member of Cadre. This has made him an enemy to the Justice League. He was originally a physicist, until Overmaster gave him wristbands with special powers. They increased his size, made him extremely strong, and gave him the power to control gravity. Black Mass was created by Gerry Conway and Chuck Patton, first appearing in Justice League of America #234. (1985)
