Notes

  • Root of Evil:
    • Per the 5th panel of the 8th page of the 1st story, Blackhawk Island is in the Pacific Ocean. The team flies over the Andes on their way from the Amazon to the Island.
    • The Balap headhunters are mostly armed with machetes and blow guns; the Blackhawks attack them from the air with machine guns, and from the ground with submachine guns.
  • In Drop of Destruction, Blackhawk gets head-konked unconscious, with a flintlock pistol. This is his forty-ninth concussion.[1]
  • In Whip of Montelon, the Blackhawks make use of a U.N. airfield, 28 miles from Montelon, which was an "international city." Usually but not consistently, in these stories, the U.N. was called the "United World." Montelon looks like it might be in North Africa, going by how the mobsters are dressed.
  • This issue's Chop Chop story is reprinted in Blackhawk #89
  • Also featured in this issue of Blackhawk was:
    • "The Killer Who Wasn't There" (text story)
