Darkstars #4 is an issue of the series Darkstars (Volume 1) with a cover date of January, 1993.

Synopsis for "Star Wars!"

The Darkstars continue chasing Evil Star and his Starlings. Flint witnesses how the criminal murders a policeman and, being a lieutenant himself, snaps at Evil Star. The Starlings overpower the Darkstars, but suddenly their leader starts to show feelings of guilt and orders his henchmen to stand back and retreat.

The Darkstars follow Evil Star to an abandoned scrapyard, and Colos orders his deputies to sit tight and wait for the data from his computer to arrive. However, Flint rushes in and attacks Evil Star directly, disobeying direct orders. Again, the Darkstars protect their master, and the Darkstars notice that they are not attacking, just scaring them away. Colos reiterates his order to stand down and wait.

When the data arrives, Colos realize that the brainwave implanted in Evil Star during his rehabilitation is the one causing him to have sudden shifts in personality. They interfere into that brainwave and start to flood Evil Star's mind with memories of all the atrocities he's committed, causing the villain to become overwhelmed with guilt. With him incapacitated, the Darkstars encase the Starlings in molten metal to prevent his mental commands from getting through and take them in custody.

Meanwhile, Frank Pappas kidnaps Carla White and tries to coerce her into defending him on trial again.

In outer space, Huvah Jeddigar, administrator of the Darkstars, receives the visit of the Controllers, who question the reasoning behind assigning the troubled Ferrin Colos to Earth, a planet outside of "the sphere of their concerns." Jeddigar replies that he's stumping threats to their "society" before they reach their "sphere" (although he doesn't admit that he has the same concerns about Colos). After leaving, the Controllers ponder the idea of replacing Jeddigar, but he might become a bigger threat to them than any from which he protects them.
