Synopsis for "The Samurai Condemned To Live"

After a village woman kills herself rather than succumb to the advances of an evil Samurai, the Lotus God appears before him telling him that he must spend the rest of his days fighting evil to atone for his lifetime of sin. Armed with his possessed sword Whirlwind, the samurai fulfills his quest until he is killed by a treacherous man who wishes to make a name for himself. With his dying breath the samurai passes his quest to fight evil onto his killer, Myobu, the peasant man. For years Myobu cleanses the countryside of evil until finally he confronts the ultimate evil in the province, a fire dragon! Victorious over the dragon, Myobu declares all evil slain throughtout the land but just then his sword, which aided him through his long quest, turns on it's master, saying "There is one evil left...You!" and plunges itself into Myobu's chest, killing him.

Synopsis for "The Samurai Who Surprised Death!"

A bold young samurai cowardly flees from his first battle but finds his courage awhile later and vows to return to the battlefield but when he attempts to rescue a woman from some ruffians along the road, death finds the young samurai anyway.
