Flash Comics #60 is an issue of the series Flash Comics (Volume 1) with a cover date of December, 1944.

Synopsis for Flash: "The Master of the Winds"

A dazed Flash wanders into the home of an old lady and relates a story of being foiled from stopping a crime by the Wind Master, who has a giant engine that creates artificial hurricane winds powerful enough even the speed of the Flash couldn't resist them, and he was blown away. The old lady turns out to be a crime enthusiast, with a well-stocked library and crime literature and files on some of the Flash's old enemies. She expresses a theory that, like many such idiosyncratic villains, the Wind Master became fascinated with the complexities of wind as a child, and as an adult decided to turn his knowledge to crime.

They come up with a new scheme to thwart the Wind Master's next scheme by having the flash build a metal ball he can ride in that's too heavy to be blown away, only for the villain to strike by knocking out his victims by using a vacuum instead of a hurricane and drawing all the air out of the room. The Flash uses his speed to whisk air back in, but the Wind Master slips away. The old lady loudly announces they're heading back to her house, with the hope that the villain will strike there hoping to catch them someplace they think they'll be safe. This time Flash charges through the villain's winds by using the principle of streamlining. The Wind Master is displeased to have been apprehended because of the meddling of his own mother (how else, she asks, would she have known so much about him?).

Synopsis for Hawkman: "Publicity Proves a Problem"

While thwarting a museum robbery, Hawkman and Hawkgirl are photographed by a freelance reporter, who offers to start a publicity campaign for the glamorous female crimefighter. Hawkman brushes him off, saying mystery makes their crimefighting activities more effective, but Shiera's tempted by the thought of being a glamorous starlet.

This turns out to be a ruse by the duo's old foe, the Hummingbird, playing upon feminine vanity to distract the Hawk Duo while she and her minions rob a cache of valuable gems. The reporter promises to have cameramen around if Hawkgirl will call and tell him where to meet next time the duo goes into action, which she does. While the winged wonders find themselves blinded by cameras, the Hummingbird steals some valuable emeralds. However, Hawkman has a plan to use this situation against their enemy. He has Hawkgirl call the reporter for another film shoot, but instead of going to that, they fly to the museum where they foiled the museum robbery earlier, and catch the Hummingbird in the act while she thinks they're distracted
