Synopsis for "Dead Friends and Imminent Catastrophe"

Two weeks after the detonation of the Gen-Factor bomb, various disasters are devastating southern California.  Amp gathers the Mongolian Barbecue Horde, and they meet with the Blood Congress, a mass of sentient Gen-Active blood cells which move among human hosts.  The Congress explains that Gen 13 died in the bomb blast, but their powers were amplified into raging energy patterns that have caused the storms, wildfires, gravitational distortions, and giant sludge monsters affecting the region.  Amp directs Tommy to rescue bystanders while Voodoo Doll retrieves scientist Morrie Bleibtreu from a secret Gen-Factor research facility.  Leslie then uses her powers to teleport herself, Amp, and the scientist to a storage garage where he has stashed a prototype nullifier device.  Immediately, they are attacked by Gen-Active cancer cells taken from Melanoma.  Bleibtreu is killed, but Leslie saves Nate by using her memory of him rescuing her from a lab to boost her powers.  The remnants then attack her.  Nate struggles to help her, and she has a vision of Gen 13 before passing out. Leslie awakens on a hilltop where Nate is activating the nullifier.  She uses her powers to protect them from the surrounding maelstrom while the device dissipates the energy patterns, ending the threat.  Transformed into a living reality distortion, Caitlin appears in the sky and then vanishes.
