Synopsis for "Harlequin's Secret Revealed"

On the air, Alan Scott's handed a newsflash by his secretary Molly. It seems the notorious Harlequin has escaped from prison, which Alan reads with undisguised rage. The sound guy and Molly wonder why Alan was so mad about the news, since it's not as if he's responsible for catching or holding the Harlequin, Green Lantern is. Alan switches identities and tries to go out to hunt down Harlequin while the trail's still hot, only to be distracted by a call from Doiby that leads to a battle with some gangsters. One tries to slip away, and GL finds himself facing down the Harlequin herself. She tries to trick him with an illusion of a falling fire escape and flashing light into his eyes from her glasses, but Green Lantern's seen her tricks enough times he easily withstands them and drags her into the air where anymore trickery might lead to him dropping her.

When he drops her off into police custody, a government agent comes to speak to the hero and tells him the real story with the Harlequin: she's a double agent who infiltrated gangs of criminals in order to make them vulnerable, and always escaped from prison so easily thanks to help from her handlers. Those same bosses insist Green Lantern and Harlequin not interrupt their routine so her cover won't be blown, but Molly's confused when she sees Alan Scott announcing the Harlequin's escaped again, and almost smiling.

Synopsis for "Green Lantern vs. White Star"

One night in Gotham City finds Alan Scott and Doiby Dickles attending a rodeo. After seeing the skills of its star, "Cowboy" Jim Jonas, Alan remarks to himself how it seems like Jonas is wasting his talents on cheap theatrics, and would make an excellent crime-fighter. Not long after, the duo see the latest paper and find out there's a new cowboy-styled hero in town, calling himself White Star. While Doiby's indignant the press says White Star's a rival of Green Lantern, Scott himself replies the important thing is there's another formidable fighter for justice around. However, he receives a tip from White Star that a robbery's about to take place that night at the nigh-impenetrable Main Stem Warehouse. Once there, White Star advises Green Lantern the thieves might already be inside, and the Emerald Crusader blasts a way in with his ring. The thieves are actually still outside and charge in through the opening GL made, and soon knock him out with a wooden club.

When he comes to, Green Lantern and Doiby head home, with Green Lantern suspicious of White Star. He reads a personal ad that he deduces is from White Star, challenging him to stop a robbery at the Midas Gold-Refining Plant. Meanwhile, White Star's told the guards that a crook dressed as Green Lantern's nearby and planning to rob the plant. When the guards jump GL, he turns his ring on them, making them realize this is the real crime-fighter. White Star and some crooks are robbing gold bars when Green Lantern crashes in, only to be knocked out when White Star drops a hireling on his head. This is still a victory as it confirms Green Lantern's suspicions of White Star's true identity.

Jim Jonas goes into the spotlight for his final rodeo performance, but Green Lantern shows up and lassoes him, then explains how Jonas pretended to be a crime-fighter as White Star so he could trick Green Lantern into helping enable his robberies. Later Alan Scott goes on the air, and he's proud to announce that according to a recent poll, Green Lantern is Gotham City's favorite hero once again.
