Synopsis for "The Bonds of Friends and Lovers"
Kyle Rayner just asked Jade to marry him, but he does not quite get the answer he was hoping for. Jade explains that she loves Kyle, but thinks it is too early to become husband and wife. At least Jade takes the power ring Kyle got from Batman so she can fight by the side of her boyfriend again.
When Kyle tells his assistent Terry Berg about the proposal, Terry surprisingly reacts very rude and even calls Jade a "green-skinned freak". With tears in his Terry says that he just do not want Kyle to be together with Jade and it takes a few seconds until Kyle understands what his young friend is talking about.
Later, Kyle tells Jade about Terry's confession and Jade is not as surprised as Kyle has been. She and even John Stewart already had a suspicion about Terry's sexual orientation. So Kyle makes his way to New Jersey to talk to his assistant again. Terry is very unsure about himself and does not know if he is gay. But Kyle give him confidence by telling Terry that there is nothing wrong with him and he just is who he is. However, Kyle also clearly states that he is not gay himself and that he has a relationship with Jade. Still, Terry feels much better and in Kyle's opinion was very brave today ...
