Homilus was a demonic enemy of the Freedom Fighters.
History
Homilus was a demon summoned to Earth in Rutland, Vermont one Halloween by Estra and his Warrior Wizards, a minor cult of would-be world conquerors. He was beaten back by the Freedom Fighters but managed to gain a foothold in the mind of the Black Condor and began influencing his actions over the course of several months, also giving him telepathic powers. Homilus eventually possessed first the Condor and then the rest of the Freedom Fighters, but was defeated and dispersed across the cosmos by the actions of Martha Roberts and Firebrand.
Notes
- This version of Homilus, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
