Synopsis for "The JSA Returns, Part Three: Stars and Atoms"
The Atom and Starman head to Los Alamos where there have been nuclear disturbances caused by Stalker's Disciples. Upon arriving, they meet with Robert Oppenheimer and General Leslie Groves to discuss the situation.
Oppenheimer explains the disciple is absorbing radiation and accelerating the radiation exposure that causes death in minutes to those exposed. They've already lost many troops in the nuclear fallout attempting to stop him. They hand Starman a device that can deliver a uranium blast that could potentially cause a chain reaction to take out the nuclear disciple. Starman tells Atom to stay behind as he wouldn't be protected from nuclear radiation like he would with his staff.
As Starman approached the disciple, he's caught off guard by an energy blast from the disciple's mouth. It knocks him unconscious and he drops his staff exposing him to the radiation.
Against his commands, Atom runs into the wasteland risking his own life to save Starman. He grabs the nuclear gun and drives a shot directly into the disciple's chest killing him.
When Starman comes to, he can hardly believe his eyes as the ground has turned black from the explosion but in the epicenter is Atom who remains unharmed, though completely naked.
Dr. Occult appears and tells them he needs them with utmost urgency as they jump through a portal.
