Lilith, also known as Mother of Demons, was the first wife of Adam before God created Eve on the Garden of Eden. She tamed the beasts of the night and went on to birth a species of demon called the Lilim, which includes Lucifer's lieutenant Mazikeen. In the Prime Earth continuity, Lilith is also the bride of Cain and the second vampire, known as the Mother of Monsters.
Lilith is a character in Jewish mythology originally adapted to the comics by Neil Gaiman in Sandman (Volume 2) #40 (1992).
