Lightning Lord

Lightning Lord is Mekt Ranzz, an enemy to the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th Century. Born on the planet Winath, he gained electric powers through exposure to Lightning Beasts. Every Winathian is born with a twin, and Mekt was considered a freak for not having one. This lead him to resent his younger siblings, who became the heroes Lightning Lad and Lightning Lass. To oppose his brother, he founded the Legion of Super-Villains with Cosmic King and Saturn Queen.

In Reboot Legion continuity, Mekt becomes Lightning Lord but there is no Legion of Super-Villains. In Prime Legion continuity, Lightning Lord is the leader of the Wanderers. Lightning Lord was created by Jerry Siegel and Curt Swan, first appearing in Superman #147. (1961)
