Synopsis for "The Moon's Invisible Army!"
Although he has reservations, Dr. Will Magnus decides to revive Platinum after she sacrificed herself to stop the Robots of Terror.[1] Rather than try to find the traces of her exploded body on the Moon, he decides to build a new robot out of platinum but finds that this ersatz replacement has no personality or emotions. He takes her out on the Rocket Disc and she careens wildly, spilling him over the side into the bay. Iron and Mercury fish him out, having followed behind in secret. The new Platinum objects to her colleagues having any sense of self or free will, so he commands her to smelt herself to the actual Metal Men's delight.
They go to the Moon and find enough bits of Tina's old body to reconstruct her. As soon as she is awake, she embraces Magnus and it's clear that this is the Platinum they knew from before. Platinum shows her gratitude by cooking him a meal and is attacked by a giant expanding egg that leaps from the frying pan. When they extracted her from the Moon, the Metal Men brought back some kind of extraterrestrial microorganisms that are rapidly growing.
Lead tries to contain the space amoeba but it's too powerful. Iron fights it directly and gets engulfed in its body. Mercury holds back the tide for a few moments to allow the remaining Metal Men time to enter the Rocket Disc and fly to safety while shooting a flame at the beast below. Gold shovels the amoeba into Tin, who forms a large can around them. Magnus shoots him into space but their rocket is bombarded by cosmic rays that disrupt their flight path and he has to abandon Tin in outer space.
