Mister Macabre was an enemy of Captain Marvel, Jr.
History
Mister Macabre was a stockbroker named Filpot. After being fired and reported for embezzlement, he set about killing his old partners. He made it look mysterious, using an ice dart from a blow gun, so as to leave no trace. He impersonated a coroner to remove any clues he had left behind.
He killed his first two partners, a policeman who became too nosy, and was about to kill the last partner, but was stopped by Captain Marvel, Jr.. After his plot was revealed, he stabbed himself with one of his ice darts and was believed to have died a slow death. However, he had stabbed himself with a poisonous dart which only gave him a green face. He survived, but his face remained green.
Some time later, he teamed up with Captain Nazi to abduct an inventor.
Notes
- This version of Mister Macabre, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
