Synopsis for "Passing The Miracle"

While remodeling the new apartment, Oberon questions Barda if Shilo really has what it takes to be Scott's successor. Barda claims Shilo has the wits and the skills, remembering the time he helped them years ago. Oberon is still not thrilled by the idea of Scott leaving the mantle so soon after Thadeus Brown, the original Mister Miracle, gave it to him. Eventually, their curiosity and boredom leads them to eavesdrop on Scott and Shilo.

On their separate room, Scott talks with his friend Shilo Norman after years without seeing each other. Shilo proves to be certain about becoming the new Mister Miracle, and Scott offers his suit. But Shilo already has a suit of his own design, already equiped with technological gizmos in the mask, gloves, and boots, and even his own version of a Multi-Cube, but he can't make it work. Scott explains that New Genesis' technology needs a touch of a "spiritual" element of the Mother Box, and he gets to work on making adjustments to the suit. He adds his Mother Box to Shilo's suit, and then lets him try it. Scott then reveals the new Mister Miracle to the nosey Barda and Oberon.

They go to the rooftop and Shilo tries the Aero-Discs. His lousy maneuvering, in par with Mother Box's efforts to show him the Aero-Disc's capabilities, take him to perform dangerous tricks, like flying inside a building, and almost crashing with both a plane and then a subway train. His ride take him to the scene of a mugging, and he tests the suit's capabilities in combat.

After he's gone flying across the big city, Highfather appears before Scott and Barda, demanding to know why is Scott turning his back on being Mister Miracle. Scott explains that he is fed up with all the chaos and grief between New Genesis and Apokolips. Highfather understands and accepts his reasonings, and while they end their conversation, Shilo crash-lands through the window.

Outside, a mysterious man is stalking and taking notes of Scott's residence.
