Notes
- Blackhawk:
- Plambar is located between the mountains and the river, half a world away from Blackhawk Island, possibly the oldest city in the world, possibly just the wickedest. Men dress in turbans and robes; no women were visible. State religion is Tyalpolo worship; Tyalpolo is the God of Evil.
- Blackhawk gets head-konked, and is stunned, his ninth blunt instrument head trauma,[1] with a desk clock. Being a Blackhawk is dangerous.
- Gill Fox returns to write and draw Choo Choo replacing Paul Gustavson.
- Death Patrol:
- Last issue for Gramps, who does not appear in next issue's story. Second-to-last issue for everybody else.
- Only Gramps, Hank, Hotintot, and Junior are visible in the story.
- Jackie is now being called "Junior" in the captions, so his name has apparently officially changed.
- Also featured in this issue of Modern Comics were:
- "Gringo John" (text story)
- Johnny Doughboy by Bernard Dibble
