After the gangsters flee, the victim identifies as Deslow Ridger, broker, and his savior as James Eagle of the Black Rock Indians, in town to buy supplies for his tribe. A cloaked figure clubs Eagle over the head for his meddling, but Quicksilver hasn't gone far and rushes to the rescue again, noting his foe's resilience. Having fended off the assassin, Quicksilver brings his injured comrade to Ridger's house so he can recover safely. Inside, Quicksilver notes the man has quite a few interesting antiquities, including a battered suit of armor with fist imprints quite similar to Quicksilver's own...

Synopsis for The Whistler: "Trap for the Whistler"

Reporter Mallory Drake's curious why his editor and police captain Niles have been in conference for an hour, but is distressed when he finds out: he's being assigned to cover a trap they're laying for the Whistler, who in reality is Drake himself! Drake decides he'll have to go along with it, or he'll be implicated in tipping off the Whistler to the police's trap.

Whistler shows up at Ambers the banker's house where the police will be lying in wait, but overhears Ambers talking out loud to himself about how this is the perfect cover for the embezzling he's been doing. He plans to blame it on the whistling vigilante. When the police close in, Whistler escapes under cover of darkness and the police grab Ambers instead, and in his pocket they find a note encouraging them to check accounts at his bank for shortfalls. Mallory Drake appears and says he's going back to the office to write up the story, but his editor kills it since their attempt to trap the Whistler led to the hero collaring Ambers for them.
