Batman and the Creeper start investigating the case and they confront the paper monster, but they are easily defeated by the creature. Batman manages to take a bit of the monster's paper body and takes it to the Batcave to analyze it. After a quick examination, Batman learns that the monster is made of a special paper used for origami and only known to collectors like Wetley.

Batman and Creeper confront Wetley, but they are sidetracked by the paper monster, who keeps attacking innocent people. While Creeper and Batman confront the monster, Wetley realizes that he is responsible for creating the monster and all because of his message of hate that has channeled other people's hate to him and transformed the monster. Wetley has had similar problems in his childhood and he decides to change his way of thinking, causing the paper monster to be destroyed in the fire and turned to ashes.

However, Creeper points out to Batman that it's far from being over: Wetley was only the focus, and the real murderers are still at large. All they need is another focus...
