Synopsis for Plastic Man: "Woozy Winks Detective Agency"

Plastic Man appears to die when a barrel of TNT goes off during a battle with a pair of crooks. Woozy finds his friend's body and the calling card of the two villainous magicians responsible. He sets out to prove his mettle as a detective and track down the villains who finally did in Plastic Man, managing to miss numerous clues to their identities. Even when he breaks the fourth wall and gets Jack Cole to do a police sketch of the perps.

Woozy promises to repay Cole by having him follow and write about whatever happens in his next comic. At a nightclub, Woozy starts throwing around counterfeit money to make himself look like a high-roller to lure out the thieves. It works, but they realize his money's fake, and start raising magical havoc in revenge. Woozy runs into Plastic Man's hospital room, just when the hero wakes up. Woozy tells him Abba and Dabba were knocked out by the explosion too, and taken into custody. Woozy's whole adventure was just a dream Plastic Man was having while convalescent.

"Ogre" Goran escapes from prison by knocking out a guard and stealing his uniform, then going to the home of Mary, his former flame. The Spirit takes on the case when Ebony reads the paper and hears that the fire department finds the shower was running when they got there. Leading Ebony to deduce Goran probably survived by hiding from the flames under rushing water. Spirit interviews the neighbors and learns a bandaged "cousin" came and took Mary out not long ago, and then finds out from the police that Goran used to use a lighthouse as his hideout. Spirit finds Goran is indeed holed up there with Mary, and the homely Olga, his current wife who's the only one who can stand the sight of his disfigured face (but who he plans to kill in Mary's favor soon). Spirit attacks Goran, giving Mary a chance to escape. The police soon arrive and arrest the bandaged criminal while the Spirit dives off the lighthouse and swims to shore.
