Synopsis for "The Doom from Giant Valley"

Professor Binns phoned Rip Hunter and told him that something bad was about to happen. Suddenly, a giant cockroach appeared out of his lab, drawing the attention of the police and the military. Rip and Jeff got into their plane and attached a chain to tip over the cockroach.

Afterwards, Professor Binns explained to Rip how he and husband colleague Dr. Halsey went to the caves in the mountains of Bavaria and found gases that could enlarge any living thing. When a rock hit Halsey’s head, his personality changed and he desired to test the formula. Binns claimed that there was no known antidote, so Rip and Jeff went to see Bonnie and Corky and go back in time with them to the Bavarian Alps in 1561.

When they arrived in Bavaria, they saw soldiers surrounding a giant man, trapping him with chains. The man pleaded with the soldiers to not harm him, but they began to aim a cannon. The Time Masters saved the man and freed him by firing a laser from their Time Sphere at his restraints. Next, the man took the Time Sphere to his fellow giants, one who happened to be the Alchemist Archarus, who claimed that he never should have done the experiment. He accidentally turned himself and his companions into giants and the town mistook them for monsters and attacked them.

Rip informed Archarus that he came to look for an antidote. Meanwhile, the nearby townspeople launched an attack on the giants. Later on, Archarus brought out the antidote for his potion, reverting him and his companions back to normal size before giving it to Rip to take back to the present.

In the present, the police were attempting to pursue Dr. Halsey, who held the potion in his hands, but dropped it, causing many insects to enlarge. Suddenly, the Time Sphere returned and landed in a giant spider web, but later escaped and decided to launch a chemical smokescreen, shrinking the insects down.

Afterwards, the ship landed next to Dr. Binns, while Dr. Halsey was sent to a mental facility.
