Notes

  • By the end of this 4-issue story arc, Lt. Burke NYPD is gassed unconscious for a third time, by the Sandman.
  • This is quite possibly the time when Tony Burke first begins to suspect the Sandman's secret identity. If so, the Sandman's habit of leaving origami notes behind are certainly one major clue.
  • "The Face" has the same nom-du-crime and general M.O. {master of disguise and free-lance assassin} as the one-shot villain who appeared in Adventure Comics #44 (Nov 1939).
