Synopsis for "You Don't Have to Go Home, But You Can't Stay Here"
Catwoman steals a golden statuette of a cat from a Gotham exhibit entitled "Murnau, The Art of the Cat." Her robbery is interrupted by Batman, and she takes off, leading him across the city on a merry chase that finally ends on the rooftop of a hotel.
Mayor Dickerson and his wife Amanda attend the Wayne Foundation Sendak Hospital Pediatric Wing Benefit. Marchak and Belivell attempt to get in, but Dickerson's bodyguard Ramirez won't let them through. Marchak swears vengeance on Catwoman, but Belivell says there's no need to get their hands dirty. Dickerson's accountant Mercedes has the hots for him, and she says Dickerson hired a professional to take out Catwoman.
Deathstroke and his daughter Rose are flying towards Catwoman's location, pleased she took one of the objets d'art they tagged at long last. Rose still thinks they should have set the bait in another city--Gotham is Batman's turf. Deathstroke is in financial straits at the moment, however, and if they move quickly, Batman won't be an issue. Deathstroke leaps out of the helicopter.
Deathstroke makes visual contact and takes aim, only to find Catwoman on the roof of the hotel with Batman. He swears.
Catwoman says that it took Batman long enough to catch up, and if he wants the statuette, he's going to have to fight her for it. Batman catches Catwoman's punch and asks her, "Is this what you really want?" Catwoman throws her arms up and tells him if he doesn't want to play, he can just take it.
Deathstroke hesitates. From this vantage, he can't take out both Catwoman and Batman, and if he takes out one, the other will cause him trouble.
Batman points out that Catwoman didn't want the cat statuette in the first place and that she set off the alarm deliberately, then waited for him.
Catwoman asks Batman if he remembers what was there before the hotel was built--a tenement building that the GCPD blew up, hoping to kill Batman during his first year. Batman asks why Catwoman would bring that up, and she tells him she was there that day. Seeing him inspired her to find out what that adrenaline rush felt like. And when she first put on that costume, she felt electric, ecstatic, invincible... now she just feels empty.
Batman thinks she is still suffering from Scarecrow's fear toxin, and he tells her she needs help. Catwoman says this has nothing to do with Scarecrow, it's about her and the issues she thought she could ignore--like this thing between the two of them.
Catwoman kisses him. He pulls away, but he can't deny there's always been something between them. She thinks that maybe it's time they do something about it. They owe it to themselves to find out who they are away from this city.
Catwoman is leaving for Sao Paulo tomorrow night. She invites Batman to join her before she leaves him standing there on the rooftop.
Deathstroke has watched this entire exchange in shock, but now he focuses his rifle sight on Batman. He could take him out now and save a lot of people he works with a world of heartache, but until they put up the cash, there's no profit in it.
Deathstroke finds Catwoman again, and he shoots her, sending her crashing to the ground. Batman heads towards Deathstroke's helicopter, but Deathstroke explodes an Exxol gas truck in Gotham's streets that seems to finish Catwoman off once and for all.
As news reports broadcast the unconfirmed death of Catwoman in the explosion, a homeless man named Homer shows a homeless woman named Sadie what he found in his day's scavenging: the battered body of an injured and unconscious Catwoman.
