Synopsis for The Jester: "Oople's Truth Pills"

Oscar Oople breaks up a card game at a high society club by putting truth pills in the gamblers' drinks, which make them admit they were all hustling each other. When the police show up to quell the disturbance, McGinty refuses to believe these men are really such notorious card hustlers. Chuck Lane catches Oople collecting the money from the pot that'd hit the floor during the gamblers' scuffle, and to get rid of him, Oople shoots a truth pill into his mouth. Under the influence of the truth pills, Lane vouches for the gamblers' stories, and a disbelieving McGinty snarls, "I suppose the next thing you'll tell me is that you're the Jester!" Still under the influence of the truth pill, Lane obligingly changes into his costume, which makes the criminals flee, but which McGinty dismisses as another of Lane's dumb jokes. Despite seeing Lane change into costume right in front of him, Oscar Oople isn't sure what he saw either and doubts his own sanity.
