Notes

  • "The Jap Devil Dragon":
    • Alan Armstrong smokes a pipe.
    • Von Schutz wears a monocle. He's still alive at this story's end.
    • Shaku speaks near-normal English. In comic books of 1942, almost all Japanese villains spoke in an idiotic dialect; this one is a rare exception. He's also still alive at this story's end.
    • The Devil Dragon inflicts a vast swath of death and destruction across the United States. Afterward this is never mentioned again.
  • "The Komitaji":
    • Gestapo Officer Stossman wears a monocle. He was not visible in the final battle scene; his fate is uncertain.
    • Spy Smasher's Gyrosub is mentioned but does not appear.
    • Admiral and Eve Corby do not appear, which is unusual in a Spy Smasher story.
  • Also appearing in this issue of Spy Smasher were:
    • Contents page, art by Mac Raboy
    • "Death Visits the Dentist" (text story) by Joseph J. Millard
