Synopsis for "Acceptance"

Supergirl is sitting on a satellite, contemplating the world and her life. Listening to the voices of seven billions of people is overwhelming and sometimes she is tempted to ignore them, but she can't sit back and wait when people is in danger. Then Her super-hearing takes notice of a skirmish in downtown Metropolis. Livewire is tearing up the streets in the hopes of having a confrontation with Superman. Supergirl flies down and Livewire makes her disgust and letdown obvious. Kara gets angry, tears open a water line and aims it at Livewire, short-circuiting her powers. Then Kara knocks her out. Kara feels relieved until she notices the spectators are disappointed that they didn't get to see Superman. Wondering if she will ever understand people, Kara flies off.

Supergirl heads to Gotham and has a brief conversation with Batman. She's torn between two worlds: Earth doesn't appear to welcome her and she barely remembers Krypton. She knows that her cousin Superman was educated on Kryptonian culture by way of the Sunstone crystals that his father Jor-El left to him, and wonders whether Zor-El may have left a message for her. She flies off to Antarctica to unearth her own Kryptonian vessel. She checks carefully the pod but she finds nothing. Her uncle left a message for her cousin, so why her father didn't? Or a message to her...

Kara realizes she can still talk to her uncle. She heads to Smallville to talk to Pa Kent, and then takes off for the Fortress of Solitude. Kara activates one of the many Sunstone crystals. A holographic image of Jor-El appears and begins speaking. His words are intended for Kal-El, but he talks about Kara. He tells his son her cousin will be with him; and his parents, her parents and the whole of Krypton will live through her.

Feeling more relieved, Supergirl flies back to her home and uses the portal access device she recently acquired from a Green Lantern[1] to open an aperture to the place where Krypton used to be. She stares into the emptiness of space, recalls her father's last words and says goodbye to him, assuring she is doing the best she can.

Trivia

  • The Kents apparently have problems when it comes to mending fences. Jonathan Kent is seen once again repairing the fence on the Kent farm. This task occurs with moderate regularity in the DC Universe.
