Synopsis for the 1st Story

The Superman Family saves a spacecraft piloted by Captain Jack Corben. Corben's ship passed through a Kryptonite asteroid field and is now feeling ill. Superman suggests taking his ship to S.T.A.R. Labs for further analysis. At S.T.A.R. Labs, Dr. John Henry Irons discovers a connection between an alien technology that has fused with Corben's ship and Luthor's old battle suit. He doesn't know what the connection is, but assures Superman he will continue to work on it. Corben, meanwhile, is visited at Metropolis Hospital by Luthor, who convinces him that his Kryptonite poisoning is Superman's fault. Corben, apparently, is transforming into human Kryptonite, but Luthor claims to be able to save him.

At the Fortress of Solitude, Krypto is waiting for the Supermobile to move so that he can chase it. Fuzzy is unimpressed.

Jimmy is hanging around with his friends Cloe and Natasha, telling them about he and Lois reported Superman Family's rescue of astronaut Jack Corben. He is beginning to suspect Cloe and Supergirl might be one and the same. Suddenly, a man in green armor arrives and demands Jimmy to call Superman. When the Superman Family shows up, the man in green armor attacks him with a piece of Kryptonite embedded on his chest. He is Jack Corben and his body has been turned into Kryptonite, a condition he blames Superman for. Now, he calls himself Metallo and wants revenge.

Natasha runs to S.T.A.R. Labs and tells him about Metallo, so he grabs a hammer and Luthor's old battle suit to help Superman. John faces Metallo, giving the Superman Family time to recover. However, Metallo gains the advantage and is about to finish John off when Superman and his friends, wearing their anti-Kryptonite suits and driving the Super-Mobile, trap Metallo in a lead box sealed with their heat visions. Superman accepts John as a member of the Superman Family and John accepts the superhero name "Steel." When Jimmy warns them about Solomon Grundy attacking the city, the heroes, including Steel and Natasha, set out to stop him.

Solomon Grundy simultaneously throws Superman, Superboy and Supergirl into the barn Martha has been cleaning. Frustrated, Martha takes a bus to Metropolis and drag Grundy by the ear back to the farm to do the cleaning himself.
