Synopsis for Supergirl: "The Cosmic Abduction!"

Supergirl is ensuring a plane's safe landing on Santa Augusta. Kara has a personal interest in its safe arrival because sci-fi writer Brad Reynolds is aboard to attend the premiere of his novel-turned-play "The Cosmic Abduction", which is being produced by Supergirl's crush Peter Barton.

Before the plane lands, though, Brad Reynolds vanishes. His publicity agent Ralph Painter ventures to say his employer was kidnapped by aliens as it happened in "The Cosmic Abduction". Supergirl saw no spaceship around the plane, though, and since Peter is getting accused of staging a publicity stunt, she decides to investigate. Incidentally she observes unsettled she has accidentally caused Peter to believe his ex-girlfriend and her friend Valerie Myles is secretly Supergirl.

Later on, Supergirl rescues a truck carrying the costumes for the play, whose tires all mysteriously blow out simultaneously, and a train carrying the theatrical sets, which is almost derailed. Supergirl deduces that those accidents were not meant to damage anybody, though.

Several days later "The Cosmic Abduction" premieres, and Linda solves the mystery of Reynolds' disappearance: since there were no empty seats on the plane, except for Reynolds', it means Ralph Painter is Brad Reynolds in disguise. Shortly after Supergirl finds Reynolds when he is trying to stop some stage lights from falling. Supergirl helps to prevent an electrical fire and declares she knows who he is. She spotted him in the crowds after each accident, and although he wore different disguises, his habit of rubbing his chin gave him away. Reynolds admits he was insecure about his comeback so he tried to hype up the opening's play by staging some publicity stunts.

Later, the play is a success. Reynolds will be charged with reckless endangerment, but Supergirl plans to speak in his behalf.
