Synopsis for Supergirl: "The Supergirl from Planet Earth"

In the town of Midvale, S.T.A.R. Labs employee Jerry Leeds and his wife Donna are sitting by their daughter Ellie's bed. Ellie has remained in a coma for seven years, mysteriously growing normally even though she can't be fed intra-venously. Jerry and Donna leave, and right then Ellie regains consciousness. Involuntarily, she sees through her room's wall and sees Supergirl landing in a field beyond the house.

Supergirl has come back her hometown for a visit, hoping get over her latest amorous deception. Kara spots her father Fred's and changes to Linda Danvers to greet him. Fred was in route to pick up Jerry Leeds and drive him to work, but when they get to his house, Ellie Leeds bursts through a window wearing an old Supergirl costume. Fred and Linda meet her parents, who explain Ellie suddenly awoke, made a Supergirl costume from several curtains and flew out the window.

Linda suits up and looks for Ellie. Kara finds Ellie, who not only believes to be Supergirl but also tells Kara's origin repeating the same words used by Kara herself when she met her cousin. Kara guesses Ellie casually overheard her conversation with Superman, and takes Ellie back her home, unaware that their talk has been overheard by an industrial spy who is spying on Jerry Leeds and his family. Wanting to find out how Leeds' daughter gained powers, the man follows after them.

Back on Leeds Household, Kara confirms that Ellie fell into a coma when she first landed on Earth. Supergirl deduces Ellie witnessed her landing, explored the area around the ship, found a glowing speck that drew her attention and took it back to home. That speck was a Kryptonite isotope called X-Kryptonite whose radiation weakens Kryptonians but gives Earth beings powers. Ellie's body couldn't handle her new powers so she fell into a coma which she couldn't wake up from because she remained near from the X-Kryptonite. Fortunately, she grew up normally thanks to the Kryptonian ability to derive nourishment directly from the Sun, and her mind woke up when she was old enough.

Jerry Leeds encases the X-Kryptonite in lead to block its radiation, and Supergirl fashions a pendant for Ellie out of it. Later at night, though, the industrial spy steals and break Ellie's pendant open. The man swallows the piece of X-Kryptonite and tries to rob S.T.A.R. Labs, but he is intercepted by Supergirl, who tricks him into believing his powers will wear off right away. Supergirl waits until his gastric acids destroy the Kryptonite and she takes him away.

The next day, Supergirl and Fred visit the Leeds again. Supergirl gives Ellie her -remade and Kryptonite-free- pendant, stating Ellie's belief that she Supergirl was due to temporary disorientation, and Fred announces that S.T.A.R. Labs is awarding Ellie a scholarship to the New Athens Experimental School. Happy to help, Supergirl returns to Santa Augusta.
