Black Manta and his late father would endeavor to find this ancient relic for fame and fortune in later life. The former seeking out the lost penal colony of Xebel, where a hidden map belonging to it's original owner was left untouched to time. With both the map and a means to accessing the pearls keep, one that could only be accessed by Xebelian hands. After a heated battle with Jackson's friends, the Teen Titans, Manta would later lose the pearl to his estranged son, who would then hand it to Garth of the Titans, who promised to hide the relic away for good. This time, without a map to follow in order to find it.[2]
