The Tower of Dis is the great castle located in the city of Dis, Hell's capital. It is home to the ruler of the Inferno and holds the coveted Crown of Horns.

History

The longest to ever hold the throne was Lord Lucifer, who maintained his role as King of Hell for millennia, as both an individual, and as part of the Satanic Triumvirate. When the demon prince Etrigan sought to claim the title for himself, he and his armies marched on the tower to take it by force.[1] It was not necessary as Lucifer, in his apathy, forfeited his position and abandoned Hell for Earth. Etrigan's reign lasted less than a day, and Hell fell into chaos with no leadership.[2]

It was several years after, that the Archangel of War, Karrien Excalibris invaded the Inferno to claim rule for himself, intent on restoring order to the universe.[3] He pushed the Hellion forces right back to the ruins of Dis, where Etrigan and his forces made their final stand.[4][5] When all seemed lost, Etrigan discovered the missing Crown of Horns by accident, deep in the base of the tower, and its immense power gave him the strength to end the war. He then abandoned the crown, allowing Lord Baytor to claim the throne.
