Synopsis for "Comedy & Tragedy, Act One: “Comedy”"

In rural Nebraska, young girl Manda misses her mark in a play rehearsal and interrupts professional actress Edie. Director Cayce Thomas calls for a break. Her troupe travels and performs across small towns and the receive a request to act out dangling storylines from a soap opera. While struggling to figure out how to entertain the local community that night, Manda shrieks that she's heard a monster. The monster is a wounded Ampersand, whom the troupe takes in to care for. They change his diaper and discover he's male. They are inspired to do a play about the last man on earth. Unbeknownst to them, a Toyota|woman watches them in a tree.
