Yoru was one of Bruce Wayne's martial arts teachers. One night he caught one of his students, Kyodai Ken, stealing from him and expelled him from the dojo.[1]
History
Yoru was one of the masters Bruce Wayne learned from when he was seeking out martial arts teachers in preparation for becoming Batman.
Years later his expelled student Kyodai Ken returned and held one of Yoru's then current students hostage in exchange for a set of scrolls which detailed a deadly technique.
